The match was held in Kolkatta. Punjab won the toss they chose to bowl. The Kkr opener Philp Salt 75 (37) and Sunil Narine 71 (32) made 138 runs for the first wicket. It was a good start for Kkr. Narine got out at 10.2 overs. Venkatesh Iyer 39 (23) also played a good knock. Salt got out at 163 runs. After that, Andre Russel 24 (12), and Captain Shreyas Iyer 28 (10) played very well. They both helped to reach 261 runs. Pbks bowlers failed to stop the Kkr batters. Rahul Chahar gave a decent performance with the bowl but Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, Rabada, Harpreet Brar, and Arsdeep Singh conceded more runs.
In this season this is the 5th time to reach 250+ runs. Kkr made two times 250+ in this season and Srh did it three times while first batting.
Punjab openers Prabhsimran Singh and Jonny Bairstow came to chase the highest score, but they played very well in the powerplay. Both openers gave a good start. they have contributed 93 runs for the first wickets. P. Singh 54(20) got run out. After Prabhsimran Singh got out. Bairstow and Rille Rossouw build an 85-run partnership. Rille Rossouw 26 (16) got out at 178 runs. But the other end Bairstow playing big shots. He reached his century with just 45 balls. Then Shashank Singh Played a fantastic knock he made 68 runs with just 28 balls which helped to chase 261 runs. Both Jonny Bairstow and Shashank Singh chased the highest runs with just 18.4 overs and got player man of the match.
Again Sunil Narine proved he is the best bowler in the T20 format. He is the only bowler from Kkr who did bowl very well. He has just given 24 runs in 4 overs and took 1 wicket. And other bowlers gave more runs.
